Volunteers
discussed the best way to install the piping for
these water tanks. The tanks collect rainwater
harvested from the roof and it is used for drinking
after filtration.
Besides rainwater harvesting, volunteers helped the villagers to harvest rice. It is as painted in the Planting Rice song, ".... Bent from morn till set of sun...." It was however great fun for everyone.
A golden harvest of rice is something the villagers are always thankful. Heavy floods could have destroyed their livelihood and hopes.
