NEPAL

One of the poorest countries in the world, a situation made worse by an ongoing Maoist rebellion. Mainly dependent on agriculture, over 40% of its 25 million people (UN 2003) is estimated to live below the poverty line. It has a life expectancy of 60 years for both men and women, with a GNI per capita of US$250 (World Bank 2001).

CAMBODIA

It is one of the poorest countries in the world with 75% of the workforce living off subsistence farming. Aids is another threat to its future with many children becoming orphans when both parents die of Aids. Its population of 14.1 million (UN2003) has a life expectancy of 55 years (men) and 59 years (women). The GNI per capita is US$300 (World Bank 

THAILAND

Our registration for the NGO, OHF Thailand has been approved by the authorities in Thailand. In 2012 we will start work on a new project in Phitsanulok which is in the centre of Thailand.  We have plans for an orphanage, a training centre as well as a  livelihood centre. It will be a beacon of hope to the poor and disadvantaged. Our programs will change lives by providing them with opportunities to learn, develop and acquire good habits. Phitsanulok municipality has about 100,000 residents. Located in the northern part of Thailand, 377 Kilometres from Bangkok, it is a center for migration from rural areas of the lower northern part of Thailand. It is estimated that around 10% of the population in Phitsanulok live below the poverty line.
