A
superb and practical way to gain funds
and help the poor.
In many third world countries,
jobs are hard to find. Jobs give people a sense
of self-worth as they are not given handouts but
are actually making some products which have a commercial
value. However, the difficulty is to market the
products as often the market in their own country
is limited. Operation Hope sources products directly
from the source buying them from people whose primary
objective is to help the poor and not to enrich
themselves.
We do not buy from middle men or from individuals who add a
markup to the cost. This ensures that all
profit from the sale of these products goes to either
supporting the operations of Operation Hope or to
the women who made the products.
These products are sold primarily
at booths in shopping centres, offices and churches
and are manned by unpaid volunteers (see
Be
a Booth Volunteer).
