The Co-workers of Mother Teresa recognised that all the goods of the world, including gifts of mind and body, advantages of birth and education, are the free gifts of God, and no-one has the right to a superfluity of wealth while others are dying of starvation and suffering from every kind of want.  They seek to right this grave injustice by the exercise of voluntary poverty and sacrifice of luxuries in their way of life.

Meet our people

Christine Ngan
Job: Operations Manager
Location: Hope Trust Nepal
Country: Nepal

Jason and I came to Nepal on May 1st 1998. This year marked our 8th year of ministry in the Himalayan nation. Years before, I was serving with Operation Mobilization (OM) for about six years in various countries including Nepal. After my first visit to this beautiful nation, Nepal has always been in my heart since. After I met Jason, we went to WEC Missionary Training College (now known as Worldview College) in Tasmania, Australia.

We spent three years there preparing ourselves for a long term missionary calling.

I have a heart for children. This desire came through helping in an orphanage back in 1989 when I was with OM in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. This desire resurfaced after we moved to Nepal to serve the Lord in 1998. With the help of a few good and long-time friends, I started a small home for eight boys in 2000. It was a great learning process for me how to be a mom to these disadvantaged kids and also to trust Him for all our resources. Then the Lord decided to fling open the door wide for the ministry. Last year, I decided to put on my socks and shoes properly and walked fearfully before His door of opportunity. After much prayer and soul searching, I accepted Robert's offer and took up the challenge to operate a bigger orphanage home. I am now seconded by Centre of New Life, my home church to serve with OHF. It is time to get beyond the boundaries of my own backyard and reach out to underprivileged children with the immeasurable love of Christ.
