  Opportunities to Serve

Partnerships

Churches can be an Operation Hope's partner through joint venture projects (such as building and managing an orphanage), provide financial and prayer support for its members who serve in Operation Hope or send regular teams to work with Operation Hope's community service projects. They can organise fund raising events and provide volunteers for our booth sales (see "Be a Booth Volunteer").

OHF offers opportunities for church members who wish to help the poor overseas. Send your missionaries to work in one of our oversea projects.

Tertiary Institutions can collaborate on projects where technology is used to improve the lives of the poor.

Companies can be corporate sponsors for Operation Hope providing financial, technical as well as material support.

Be an OHF Volunteer

Sign up as an OHF volunteer to help in booth sales (see "Be a Booth Volunteer") and other events (fund raising, awareness, publicity) in Singapore. Contribute your talent in creating video clips and interactive CDs or be a marketeer for our crafts and soaps. Hold tea parties to introduce your friends to our Child Sponsorship and other programs. Be an admin volunteer where you help out in the various administrative tasks.

Long Term Volunteer

We require volunteers who are willing to stay one month (minimum) in Hope Village Prey Veng. The cost is S$600 per month and will include three meals a day and an air-conditioned accomodation. You will have to purchase your own air ticket . Jetstar flights is around $110 one way. We require volunteers for the following areas:

  1. Teach the children English
  2. Help manage and develop our community projects (great for DIY hands on people)
  3. Help our Garden of Hope project. You will need to have green fingers and be familiar with farming
  4. Teach relevant craft skills
  5. Help with the children devotions

Book Marketing

We have published three books. We need volunteers to market our books to Christian as well as regular book shops. You can also help introduce the books to your church or help to sell them after service. One church has actually bought 700 books to give to their members during Mission Sunday! The books are:

  1. A Sense of God and A Feeling of Heaven. Cost $10. It is about how the author found its faith by serving and helping the poor in Third World countries. It is written from a practical perspective.
  2. Who is my neighbour? Cost $10. It explains God's great commandment and how social work has been active in the early churches but much neglected in today's churches. Helping our neighbour is not just one of the function of a Christian but the fruit of our salvation. We do good works because we are saved and the good works we do are evidence of a transformed life!
  3. The 25 cents meal and the $50 Buffet. Cost $20. This coloured photo book encourages us to get out of our comfort zone to work in Third World countries. Will make a very interesting coffee table book in any home!

If you want to help us sell our books, please contact us at 6873 2955 or email admin@ohf.org.sg

Film Making

If you have film-making expertise, we would like to make several videos about our work and our children. It can even be a documentary that can be shown on TV or sold to a cable network provider. If you are interested in this project, please email Robert at robert@ohf.org.sg
