OHF Volunteer Program

OVERSEAS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

OHF Volunteer is an overseas community service project involving volunteers in challenging yet achievable tasks that meet real community needs in the less developed countries. There is much to learn from the world of poverty. Through the experience of serving the genuine needs of this community, volunteers will learn contentment in simplicity in the lives of these poor rural villagers, personal growth in their character values and soft skills. Apart, the cultural exchange has allowed our volunteers to gain valuable experiences which are unattainable in the classroom.  At OHF, we believe that these community service projects are not only fulfilling and purposeful for the volunteers but also they help to provide the significant needs for the local community.

Get into the adventure of a lifetime by serving the poor, the sick, orphans and widows in a less developed country!  With our experienced staff on the field, own vehicles and accommodation,  your safety and security are assured. You would also be guided by staff who are familiar with the local conditions during the trip.

OHF Volunteer is about:

a)  Providing a meaningful and cost effective overseas community project for volunteers

b)  Exposing volunteers to the life of a poor rural community

c)  Allowing volunteers to make a difference to the lives of others

OHF Volunteer Program benefits both the local community and the volunteers. Your team of volunteers will return home with vivid memories of their experience overseas and now with a better appreciation of what they have at home. The local community will benefit from the project undertaken by the volunteers. Your involvement enhance the image of Singapore as a caring neighbour.

These projects would also be excellent team-bonding and team building opportunities for Corporates.  Schools could also leverage on this programme as an experiential learning platform for your students to learn lessons on team work, problem-solving skills and learning to tolerate each other under difficult conditions and an unfamiliar environment.

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE

Besides helping the local communities, we hope to heightened the awareness of poverty in third world countries amongst  Singaporeans. Our perception of "suffering" changes when we see how hard life is for others. We hope that  these projects will show how we can make a difference to the lives of others and encourage them to do more for the poor even when they are back in Singapore.
