Name: Raj Kumar Ghala

Age: 6 years old

Family History: Raj Kumar Ghala is from Dhunche, Rasuwa, North East Nepal. He is from the Tamang tribe. He speaks his own dialect and a little Nepali. When his father remarried the third time, he sent Raj to his aunt’s (mother’s sister) house to be looked after. She does nor earn enough to feed her own family and find it difficult to look after and provide for Raj as well. Eventually, Raj was brought to Kathmandu by his father and uncle to be put into a home and he is now with us.

Name: Tabita Nepali

Age: 4 years old

Family History: Tabita’s mother, Babisara Nepali, gave birth to twins. One of the twins died with her during child birth. Tabita survived. Her father, Tulabir Nepali, remarried. His second wife died about two months ago leaving him with two sons, Mosa, age 3 and Manoj, age 1. Tabita’s grandmother is taking care of the two sons. Her father has no job. 

Name: Dor Bhandari

Age: around 12 years

Family History: Dor is an orphan. His dad died of poor health at the age of 45. His mother, Ambika died seven months ago of cancer at the age of 43. Dor has two other older brothers and one younger brother age 10 yrs.

Eldest brother, Raju, age 21, left for Kathmandu when his father passed away. He works at a mo-mo shop (restaurant) for the past two years. Second eldest brother, Suman, age 17, was left to care for Dor and Dhana in the village. Dor and Dhana were admitted to the orphanage on 21 April 2009

Name: Dhana Bahadur Bhandari

Age: around 10 years

Family History: Dhana is an orphan. His dad died of poor health at the age of 45. His mother, Ambika died seven months ago of cancer at the age of 43. Dhana has three older brothers.

Name: James Yuka Gurung

Age: 13 years old

Family History: James came to OHF Nepal on 22/3/2000, He was 4 years old then and have lost both parents. James' older sister begged for him to be admitted to the orphanage. He has 4 other older brothers, and could only speak the Tibetan dialect.

Name: Peter Arpun Sunuwar

Age: 12 years old

Family History: Peter was locked in a room when his grandfather needed to go out. He was with him for four years. He was naughty and liked to steal. There is no other information about his family background.
